Suicide by Star Wars Apocrypha: Sith High

Continuity Spotlight: The Rest of the War

(Suicide by Star Wars Apocrypha is a foolish attempt to examine the entirety of the now decanonized Star Wars Expanded Universe and quantify its assorted artistic merits. Read the introduction. Check out the archives.)

The Cold War has begun!

With the Treaty of Coruscant, our EU timeline has caught up with those fun little timeline videos we’ve been watching every so often. After almost 30 years of warfare, the Great Galactic War, the longest and yet least detailed of the various Sith Wars in Star Wars history, has come to a close, beginning a decade-long period of sociopolitical tension and bullet bras. The Galactic Republic and Sith Empire entrench themselves in their respective portions of the galaxy, nominally at peace but just waiting for a misplaced spark to detonate the whole metaphor. Since EU stories actually set during the Great Galactic War, let alone the parts of it that are of any importance, are few and far between, it would behoove those following along on our odyssey to fill themselves in on the rest of the back story contained in BioWare’s Old Republic tie-in Web videos. The remaining entries in the series are embedded here for convenience.

Originally, this series was supposed to span about seven more videos, stretching back from the origins of the Sith to the discovery of the Force itself, but BioWare got tired of paying Lance Henriksen to be awesome so they canceled it. Those unimaginable bastards.
